Can you tell us a bit about yourself?
I live in the seventh largest municipal in Norway, Fredrikstad, located near the mouth of Glomma in the eastern part of the country. I have spent three years studying in the same town. I now hold a Bachelor of Engineering in Innovation and Project Management from Østfold University College.
When I am not working you will find me in the stable. I have my own beautiful, purebred Arabian horse that I care for every day. We love a workout in the arena or a trail ride in the forests nearby.
When did you join eSmart Systems, and what’s your role in the company?
I joined eSmart Systems late November 2018 as a Project Manager of Energy Markets.
I am responsible for four different projects; one project on demand response with a customer in Florida, one on recycled energy in a shopping mall nearby and two research projects where we deliver flexible solutions including the use of PV panels, stationary batteries and EV chargers. My role also includes keeping track of progress, budgets and resources.
My favorite part about the job is to contribute to and maintain a good customer relation and to deliver high-quality solutions.
What inspires you to come in every day?
I am excited to be a part of such a creative, ambitious, innovative and dynamic company with great diversity! In eSmart, I get to learn from and work with the very best people. Everyone on our team is highly invested in our products and genuinely interested in helping each other succeed. Based on our different knowledge, experiences and cultures we combine our talents in bringing out the best in each other.
We deliver a highly flexible product platform which e.g. contributes in making our customers aware of their electric demand, helps reducing their demand during peak hours and their bill.

Why did you choose eSmart Systems?
Since long before my studies I have had a rapidly growing fascination for great teamwork. At mind, I have always been structured.
During my studies, I never had subjects on technology. However, I am excited about the idea of taking on new challenges and learning new things. I saw the position as a Project Manager within Energy Markets as a great opportunity to do just that. Having worked in a small, newly developed company, I was also eager to work in a bigger environment with several colleagues to learn from. Creating a common vision for all partners in a project is one of my main goals.
Do you have any tips you’d like to share with aspiring eSmarters?
As a recent graduate, my number one tip is to not be afraid to take on responsibility or a new opportunity. When searching for a job after graduation, you may feel unqualified. Forget your fear of not being experienced enough – the only true way of learning is by leaping in. Your attitude and your eagerness to learn means everything.
