Daniel Celand Dahl became an eSmarter in 2018 and is now an essential part of the team. Dahl is multi-talented and works both as a back and front-end developer. He has a positive mindset and is a major contributor toward building a good culture in our company. In this interview he tells us how he became a part of eSmart Systems and what inspires him to come in every day.

Can you tell us a bit about yourself?

I am a 34 year old Norwegian developer that loves to invent new things. Whether it's in code or outside projects, creating is my passion. I was in the military for 10 years. The transition into IT has been smooth and rewarding. I have 1-year old twins, boy and girl, that take up most of my time. As a hobby, I play the guitar and just started playing the piano. When I have the time, I like playing PC games and enjoy a good workout at the gym.

When did you join eSmart Systems and what’s your role in the company? 

I became an eSmarter in 2018 as a front and back-end developer. Within the first year, I had worked as both, and my creations were already running in production for customers. Having multiple tasks makes my job more challenging and exciting.

What inspires you to come in every day?

A great team of people and the feeling of being a part of something that makes an impact. I know that sounds like a cliché, but for me it’s a correct description of the reason for coming to work every day. The work environment at eSmart Systems is inclusive and fun.

Why did you choose eSmart Systems?

eSmart Systems has a good reputation among the students and lecturers of different universities. Additionally, eSmart is a company that develops systems and is on the frontier of the industry. Having the opportunity to participate in the creation of something completely new that no one has done before is exciting and appealing.

Do you have any tips you’d like to share with aspiring eSmarters?

Be bold and show your face. No one has ever accomplished anything by not trying. If you are in school, study hard and try to understand the technology. eSmart Systems is worth it!
